Brenda Kitchen is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She went to Union High School, Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Education, and Southern Nazarene University where she earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Brenda is certified to teach Elementary Education, Special Education, English, Social Studies, Drama, and Dance. Brenda taught school in Edmond, OK, and North Carolina, but her favorite teaching job was with the Original Broadway Children’s Cast of Matilda The Musical on Broadway when she lived in NYC. Brenda loves the stage and has been performing professionally for years. Some favorite performances include, Legally Blonde, Steel Magnolias, The Wedding Singer, Les Misérables, Gypsy, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, Joseph…Dreamcoat, …Kindergarten, Guys and Dolls, and of course, Oklahoma! Brenda recently became a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, and Registered Drama Therapist. She is currently working as a Counselor in Edmond, and choreographs the dances for the Beginning, Junior, and Senior Production shows and Musical Theatre Company at ArtWorks. Brenda has been integral in the founding and development of Musical Theatre Company, helping it grow to what it is today. In her free time, Brenda loves to read, travel, and spend time with her nieces, and dog, Fosse.
