Senior Production Company – ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts

ArtWorks Academy believes performing provides opportunities for growth and development. Collaborating with peers to produce a play or musical teaches students the importance of teamwork, while building self-confidence. Senior Production Company productions are open to students with varying levels of experience in 7th-12th grade.

Each semester this class will rehearse and perform a full-length musical. Students will be instructed in every aspect of the production process. Auditions will be held during the second week of class. All enrolled students will be cast in the production. Each student will have their moment to shine!

Mondays from 6:30-9:00 pm

Students will perform in Hadestown: Teen Edition (January 24-26, 2025). In the spring semester students will perform in Les Misérables: School Edition, (June 13-15, 2025).

Classes for Hadestown: Teen Edition begin August 26, 2024.

Students enrolled in Senior Production Company for Hadestown: Teen Edition will automatically stay enrolled for the spring musical (unless you let us know otherwise). New students wishing to enroll for the spring semester to be in Les Misérables: School Edition will be able to get on a wait list. After Hadestown: Teen Edition is over, we will notify students on the wait list if there is room in the class. Classes for the spring musical begin the week of February 3, 2025.

Tuition

Tuition is $128 per month. Students taking more than one class (i.e. Senior Production Company and a dance class) will receive a discounted rate on additional classes.

Additional Fees

In addition to the $125.00 monthly tuition, there is also a $125.00 Production Fee due each semester, as well as an annual $35 Enrollment Fee. The Production Fee helps cover the cost of theater rental, show royalties, costumes, sets, props, etc.

Additional Rehearsals

Some Saturday rehearsals will be required. In order to use class time as efficiently as possible, we try not to block scenes or teach songs with small groups of students during the regular class time. We do this on Saturdays, so the class time can be used for songs and scenes involving the majority of the cast. We notify all students and parents of the potential Saturday rehearsals at the beginning of each semester. There are generally one to two per month, but not all students will be called. We give you a chance to let us know in advance of any conflicts you have on the scheduled Saturday rehearsals.

Attire

Students should wear clothes which allow for ease of movement to class. Girls need tan character shoes and boys can wear black jazz shoes or dress shoes (depending upon the show).

Performance Dates and Venue

Performances for Hadestown: Teen Edition will be January 24-26, 2025 at the Main Theatre at Randall University in Moore, which is located at 3701 S. I-35 Service Rd. Performances for Les Misérables: School Edition (June 13-15, 2025) will also be at the same location.

Tickets

Tickets will be $12-$15 each. They will go on sale two weeks before the show. Parents will receive an email with instructions on how to purchase tickets.
