ArtWorks Academy’s School of Dance produces an annual recital in which all of our dance students will perform. We believe this is an important character building activity for our students. Every dancer is allowed their time on stage to show what they have learned and how they have grown as a performer through the year.
Every class will perform in the recital (unless noted as a non-performing class). Each dancer will be required to purchase one costume for each class in which they are enrolled. Costume fees are as follows:
Tap, Twirl and Tumble
Acro Add On*
All other levels
*for those students who take the 30-minute acro class after Ballet/Tap Combo
Costume fees DO include tights. They do NOT include dance shoes.
A non-refundable deposit (one-half of your total costume fee) is due by October 29, 2021. Balances are due by November 29, 2021. A late fee of $10 per costume will be added to all payments made after November 29, 2021.
If you have not paid your costume balance by November 29, 2021 a costume will NOT be ordered for your child. Costumes ordered late may also be subject to additional shipping charges. Once a costume is ordered, you will be responsible for the costume balance even if your child withdraws from class. *This fee does not include shoes.
Tickets for the production are $10-$12 each. Each family will receive two complimentary tickets per student enrolled (two total – NOT two per performance).
In addition to the Attendance Policy listed under general policies, the following policy applies for all dance students: Students missing more than three classes in the spring semester may not be allowed to participate in the recital unless private lessons (at the rate of $25 per half hour) are arranged with the instructor. This is to ensure that everyone is prepared for the spring performance.

Students may schedule private lessons on a weekly or biweekly basis. Students are allowed one makeup lesson per year. Any additional lessons missed by the student will not be rescheduled. If the instructor must cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at a time convenient to the student and instructor.
Private lessons will follow the school calendar for breaks, holidays and productions weeks, with no lessons during these times.
All private dance students must be enrolled in another dance or musical theatre class.
