Summer Classes

“Every single instructor we have worked with at ArtWorks Academy has been more than just masters of their craft, but wonderful teachers, caring mentors, and inspirational leaders. This studio has become more than just a school for my daughter, it’s a second home. And the staff are more than just teachers, they are family. They genuinely care about her and want to see her succeed, in dance and in life. ArtWorks is our forever dance home and we know you will adore it just as much as we do!” –April Holzberlein

Summer is an exciting time at ArtWorks Academy! This summer we have a variety of arts classes available for two year olds to adults. All classes with grade requirements are based on the grade the student will be in during the 2022-2023 school year. Enrollment in classes with age requirements should be determined based on how old your child will be by the first day of class.

A $20.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment to hold your child’s spot. The session charge listed, once you enroll, is your remaining balance. The balance is due by the first day of the class. Students enrolling in two or more camps or classes will receive a 10% discount off of each camp or class. Families will receive a sibling discount of 10% for each additional family member enrolled.

Our six-week summer session runs from June 27-August 4, 2022.*
*We will make up the classes missed on July 4, on Monday, August 8.

All students enrolled in a Summer 2022 Camp or Class will receive a free t-shirt! Make sure you give us your child’s t-shirt size when you enroll. You will see a box to do so when you are completing the Student Information section as you enroll.

Amélie: Teen Edition

This summer we will be producing Amélie: Teen Edition with 8th-12th grade students and 2022 grads.  It is audition only, meaning you must audition to be cast and we will select those we feel will be the best fit for the production.  Auditions will be June 23 and 24 (see details below) and rehearsals begin June 27.  If you will be out of town during auditions, please contact us in advance, so we can arrange another audition time for you.

About Amélie: Teen Edition:

Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy and mayhem. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart. Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner.

Auditions:  Vocal auditions will be on Thursday, June 23 at 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm at ArtWorks Academy.  You will sign up to audition during one of those times. Those auditioning should prepare one song from a musical, which reflects the style of the show. It should be 16-32 bars in length. We will not have an accompanist for this audition, so students will need to bring recorded accompaniment. They should also come prepared for a dance audition. The dance will be taught to them at auditions. Again, if you want to audition, but know you will be out of town that week, please let us know in advance and we will schedule a different time for you to audition. You can call (405) 397-1824 or email Katie Morris, Director of Music, at katie@artworksacademy.com. If you don’t hear back within 24 hours, please try again, as we are very busy with multiple other shows and we don’t want to miss your email or call.

As stated above, you will need to select a time and sign up to audition.  If you are planning to also audition for Musical Theatre Company, please sign up for both auditions.  You will use the same song to audition for both and do not need to audition twice, but we need to know who is auditioning for each.  So, if you plan to audition at 4:00 pm, for instance, please register for the MTC audition and the Amélie: Teen Edition audition that are scheduled for 4:00 pm (if you plan to audition for both).

Click on the link below and log in to your account or create an account if you are new.  Once you have done that you will see a link to a page that says, “2022 Summer Auditions and Master Classes.” Click on that and scroll through the calendar to find June 23.  You might need to click on ‘more’ within the calendar if not all four audition options are showing up.

Those who audition for Amélie: Teen Edition may be called back to read and sing for specific roles.  Callbacks will be Friday, June 24 at 6:00 pm.  You will be notified by email on Friday morning June 24 if you are called back.

Rehearsals:  Students will rehearse from 6:00-8:30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays from June 27 through August 4.  We might occasionally have additional rehearsals, if necessary.  We will have mandatory rehearsals every night the week of August 1.

Performances:  The performances will be August 5-7, 2022.  Performances will be at ArtWorks Academy’s Loft Theatre.

Grades: 8th-12th, 2022 grads

Cost: Tuition is $325
