Acting Adventures: 10 to 12 Week Sessions – ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts

In our Acting Adventures classes, students in 3rd-8th grade learn the importance of using their body, voice, and imagination, while working on a one act play. These ten to twelve week sessions are perfect for the busy student who wants the opportunity to be in a play. You can enroll your child in the fall and spring session or choose the one that works best for you!

Session 1: The Odyssey

From the fearsome Cyclops to the powerful sorceress Circe, Odysseus and his son Telemachus battle monsters, storms, and impossible choices in an epic adventure about courage, family, and discovering what it truly means to be a hero. This is a straight play and NOT a musical.

Session One Session Dates

Sunday, August 30-Sunday, November 15, 2026

Class Time

Acting Adventures meets on Sundays from 2:00-3:30 pm.

Ages

Acting Adventures is for students in 3rd-8th grade

Tuition

Tuition for the twelve-week session is $290.

Extra Rehearsals

Students will likely have an extra mandatory rehearsal on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 to work with the set and costumes.

Class time may be extended during the last couple of weeks of rehearsal in order to allow more time to run the show.

Performances

Performances will be November 14-15, 2026 at ArtWorks Academy’s Loft Theatre. Tickets will be $12 each and will go on sale one to two weeks prior to the performance dates.

Session 2: Junie B. Jones: Toothless Wonder

Join Junie B. Jones as she tackles the challenges of first grade, from missing out on a birthday party to wondering what the Tooth Fairy really does with all those teeth. Packed with laughs and memorable characters, this play brings Barbara Park’s beloved books to life. It’s a fun and relatable story about friendship, growing up, and finding where you belong. This is a play and not a musical.

Session Two Dates

Sunday, January 24-Sunday, April 18, 2027

Class will not meet on Sunday, March 14 due to Spring Break or Sunday, March 28 due to Easter.

Class Time

This class meets Sundays from 2:00-3:30 pm.

Auditions on Sunday, January 24 will be later in the day, due to a conflict with the performance of The Little Mermaid. Meghan will let you know what time they will meet on January 24.
