McQuadle: A Dragon’s Tale

Join us for a one week theatre camp as we produce the one act play, McQuadle: A Dragon’s Tale

McQuadle is a dragon who wants to know his purpose in life, and he will go to almost any length to find it out — even if it means visiting an Evil Queen who lives in a castle on top of the hill.  When he arrives, McQuadle learns that the Queen has lured him there for her own secret purposes, and she doesn’t intend on letting him get back home at all.  But McQuadle promised his mother he’d be home for dinner!  Three storytellers with crazy personalities of their own lead the audience through this fun adventure that includes audience participation, laugh-out-loud silly jokes and sight gags.  

AUDITIONS

This is a straight play and NOT a musical.  Every student who auditions will be cast.

  • Auditions will be on Sunday, July 11 at 3:00 pm.
  • Enroll in the camp and we will email information about auditions prior to the audition date.
  • If you are going to be out of town during the auditions, please let us know in advance, so we can schedule and earlier audition time.
  • Your child does not need to prepare anything for auditions.

CAMP DATES AND AGES

  • Grades: 2nd-7th grade
  • Times: 9:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, July 12-16, 2021

PERFORMANCE DATES

Performances for McQuadle: A Dragon’s Tale will be Friday-Saturday, July 16-17, 2021.  We will announce the performance times and number of performances after enrollment is finalized. 

TUITION

  • Tuition is $150. A $20.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment to hold your child’s spot.
  • The session charge listed, once you enroll, is your remaining balance.
  • The balance is due by the first day of the camp.
  • Students enrolling in two or more camps or classes will receive a 10% discount off of each camp or class.
  • Families will receive a sibling discount of 10% for each additional family member enrolled.

VENUE

Rehearsals and performances for McQuadle: A Dragon’s Tale will be at the Loft Theatre at the ArtWorks Academy Main Campus in Norman, which is located at 3251 Market Place.

 

TICKETS

Tickets will be $8 each.  They will go on sale the week of the show. Parents will receive an email with instructions on how to purchase tickets.

MAKE IT AN ALL DAY CAMP!

Looking for an afternoon option?  You can also enroll your 2nd-7th grade child in Dragon Warrior Dance Camp, which runs from 1:00-4:00 pm, Juy 12-16.  If you want them to stay for lunch between camps, they can do so for $5 per day. They will need to bring their lunch.
