Group Voice – ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts

GROUP VOICE 1

This class is designed to introduce young singers to healthy vocal technique in a positive, upbeat, and encouraging group environment. Students will build a strong foundation through breathing techniques, vocal placement, diction, musicianship, and song exploration while learning to sing confidently as part of an ensemble. Class activities include group singing, beginning harmony, listening skills, and age-appropriate music theory concepts. Students will explore their voices, grow in confidence, and discover how to make music sound great together.

A materials fee applies.

Ages: 2nd-4th grade

GROUP VOICE 2

This class is designed for students who want to strengthen their voices and continue developing as confident singers. Students will work on a variety of age-appropriate songs while building healthy vocal habits, breathing techniques, diction, tone, and musicianship. Classwork will include ensemble singing, harmony skills, ear training, and foundational music theory while encouraging students to develop greater awareness of their individual voices within a group setting. Students will work on both individual and group songs. Students will explore their voices, sing together, and grow as musicians in a class that is engaging, supportive, and fun.

A materials fee applies.

Ages: 5th-8th grade

GROUP VOICE 3

This class is designed for students who are ready to take their vocal training to the next level in a collaborative group setting. Students will continue developing healthy vocal technique through work on vocal placement, breathing, diction, tone, and musicianship while exploring a variety of musical styles and genres. Classwork will include ensemble singing, harmony application, ear training, music theory, and opportunities for both individual and group participation. Students will strengthen performance skills, build confidence, and learn to listen critically to themselves and others while making music together.

A materials fee applies.

Ages: 8th-12th grade

Music Achievement Award Program

ArtWorks Academy music students can participate in the Music Achievement Award Program through Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). The achievement program helps encourage students to continue their music study and to strive to achieve goals that will not only help them become better musicians, but also will enhance their love and appreciation of music. In addition, this program encourages students to seek a well-rounded music education beyond the private or group lesson. The instructor sets goals that are both realistic and attainable for each individual student according to the student’s needs, ability and motivational level. If the student achieves the goals over a specified period of time, they will receive a Music Achievement Award.
