Beginning Musical Theatre

This fun and exciting class for K-2nd grade students introduces children to the fundamentals of musical theatre.  Students will explore singing, acting and dancing as they prepare for our production each semester.  Beginning Musical Theatre (BMT) will give students a solid foundation, which will prepare them for Production Company classes.

We offer three sections of this class, all of which are held at our Main Campus.  Please enroll in the section that works best for your schedule. 

  • Mondays from 4:45-5:30 pm
  • Tuesdays from 5:00-5:45 pm
  • Wednesday from 6:00-6:45 pm

Students will perform in The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition. (January 12-14, 2024), as well as Disney’s Newsies JR. (June 7-9, 2024), along with our Junior Production Company (JPC) students. All who enroll and audition will be cast in the show!

Classes for The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition begin the week of August 28, 2023.

Students enrolled in Beginning Musical Theatre for The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition will automatically stay enrolled for Disney’s Newsies JR (unless you let us know otherwise)New students wishing to enroll for the spring semester to be in Disney’s Newsies JR. will be able to get on a wait list. After he SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition is over, we will notify students on the wait list if there is room in the class. Classes for Disney’s Newsies JR. begin the week of January 29, 2024.


Tuition is $60 per month.  Students taking more than one class (i.e. Beginning Musical Theatre and a dance class) will receive a discounted rate on additional classes. 

Additional Fees

In addition to the $60.00 monthly tuition, there is also a $75.00 Production Fee due each semester, as well as an annual $35 Enrollment Fee.  The Production Fee helps cover the cost of theater rental, show royalties, costumes, sets, props, etc.

Additional Rehearsals

Toward the end of each semester, students in Beginning Musical Theatre may be called on a Saturday to rehearse with the entire cast.  During the week of the show they will be called for two extended, mandatory rehearsals at the theater.


Students should wear clothes which allow for ease of movement to class.  Girls need black ballet shoes and boys can wear black ballet shoes or black jazz shoes.  PLEASE NOTE: Shoes for Newsies Jr. will be different. Please do not purchase shoes until after we have given you the details.
