Musical Production Camp: 9 to 5 Jr. – ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts

This summer we will produce 9 to 5 Jr. with rising 7th-12th grade students.

Although coworkers Violet, Judy and Doralee are as different as could be, they have one thing in common: their bully of a boss, Mr. Hart, makes their lives miserable. Together, they concoct a plan to liberate their office from his reign. In a hilarious turn of events, the trio gives their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

9 to 5 JR. is about teamwork and finding the courage to stand up for what’s right. Through Dolly Parton’s catchy score and a story filled with humor, young performers explore collaboration as a way to create change. AUDITIONS

This production is audition only, meaning your child must audition to be cast and we will select those we feel will be the best fit for the production. Auditioning does not guarantee placement in the cast.

Auditions will be Thursday, June 18 at 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm
Callbacks will be on on Saturday, June 20 (times TBA)

Please sign your child up to audition on Thursday, June 18 at 4:00 or 6:00 pm
Those auditioning should prepare one song from a musical, which reflects the style of the show. It should be 16-32 bars in length. We will not have an accompanist for this audition, so students will need to bring recorded accompaniment on a phone or tablet.
They should also come prepared for a dance audition. The dance will be taught to them at auditions and they will dance in small groups for the audition portion.
Those who audition for 9 to 5 Jr. may be called back to read and sing for specific roles. Callbacks will be on Saturday, June 20.

Again, auditioning does NOT guarantee you will be cast in the show. There are limited roles for this production.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR AUDITIONS

As stated above, you will need to select a time and sign your child up to audition. If your child is also planning to audition for Musical Theatre Company, please sign up for both auditions.
They will use the same song to audition for both and do not need to audition twice, but we need to know who is auditioning for each. If they plan to audition at 6:00 pm, for instance, please register for the MTC audition and 9 to 5 Jr. audition that are scheduled for 6:00 pm (if they plan to audition for both).

CAMP DATES AND AGES

Grades: 7th-12th grade
Times: 11:00 am-4:00 pm
Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, July 6-17, 2026 (performances July 17-19)

PERFORMANCE DATES

Performances for 9 to 5 Jr. will be Friday-Sunday, July 17-19, 2026. We will announce the performance times after enrollment is finalized.

TUITION

Tuition is $395. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment to hold your child’s spot.
Enrollment will not take place until the cast list is finalized. You sign up first for an audition and if your child is cast, then you enroll.
The session charge listed, once you enroll, is your remaining balance.
The balance is due two weeks prior to the first day of the camp.
All transfer and withdrawal requests MUST be submitted through a Change Request Form. Click here to view our summer policies.

VENUE

Rehearsals and performances for 9 to 5 Jr. will be at the Loft Theatre on the ArtWorks Academy Main Campus in Norman, which is located at 3251 Market Place. Please note: due to space limitations at the Loft, we may have to change the performance venue. We will announce this as soon as we determine if this is needed and have gotten approval through the royalty company to change locations.

TICKETS

Tickets will be $15 each. They will go on sale the week of the show. Parents will receive an email with instructions on how to purchase tickets.
