Dance Policies

Please make sure you read the policies applicable to all students as well as those specific to dance students, which are as follows:

Recital and Costume Fees

ArtWorks Academy produces an annual recital in which all of our dance students will perform. We believe this is an important character building activity for our students. Every dancer is allowed their time on stage to show what they have learned and how they have grown as a performer through the year.

Every class will perform in the recital. Each dancer will be required to purchase one costume for each class in which they are enrolled. Costume fees are as follows:

 2008-2009 Early Pay Costume Fees

Costume fees DO NOT include the price of tights or shoes.

A non-refundable deposit (one-half of your total costume fee) is due by November 6, 2008. Balances are due by January 29, 2009. Receive an “early pay discount” if costumes are paid in full by December 11, 2008. If you have not paid your costume deposit by November 6, a costume WILL NOT be ordered for your child. Extra shipping charges will be added to the costume fee if a costume is ordered late. Once a costume is ordered, you will be responsible for the costume balance even if your child withdraws from class. In late November, all students will receive a costume sizing confirmation sheet. Confirmation sheets MUST be returned to the front desk before your costume will be ordered.

Prior to the performance, each family will receive a recital handbook with specific information about the production, including dress rehearsal times, call times, and costume care.

Attendance Policy

In addition to the Attendance Policy listed under general policies, the following policy applies for all dance students: Students missing more than 3 classes in the spring semester will not be allowed to participate in the recital unless private lessons (at the rate of $20 per half hour) are arranged with the instructor. This is to ensure that everyone is prepared for the spring performance.
