2008-2009 Tuition and Payment Policies
Please read both the general policies and the policies specific to the type of class your child will be taking (click on one of the green tabs above), before enrolling your child in any ArtWorks Academy classes.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Tuition is based on the total amount of hours each student is enrolled in per week. Tuition is charged monthly, however a 5% discount will be granted if tuition for the entire year is paid in full at the beginning of the term. There are nine equal monthly payments (September-May) for year long classes. Semester classes are broken down into 4.5 monthly payments. Tuition is due the first week of the month and is considered late if not received by the 7th of the month. A $10 late fee will be applied for late tuition. Families with two or more children enrolled receive 10% off of each student's tuition. Tuition payments and enrollment fees are non-refundable.

Private lessons are not included in the above tuition fee schedule. Lessons are ½ hour each week. Private lesson tuition rates are as follows:

Enrollment Fee
Each student enrolling in classes at ArtWorks Academy will be charged an annual $20.00 enrollment fee. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of enrollment. Families enrolling two or more students will pay a $30.00 annual enrollment fee.
Attendance Policy
To truly benefit from performing arts instruction attendance is essential. Roll is taken each class period, so please call the office when absences are necessary. In case of inclement weather, please watch local television stations, check the website, or call the studio (397-1824) for ArtWorks Academy closings. No deductions or refunds will be given for student absences. Missed classes due to illness or other circumstances, however, may be made up in a comparable class approved by the instructor.
Class Changes/Withdrawals
All class changes must be handled through the front desk and approved by the instructor. If you decide to withdraw completely from ArtWorks Academy, a class change or withdrawal form must be filed with the front desk prior to the first of the month. If you fail to fill out a withdrawal form, your account will continue to accrue charges for tuition and fees until the end of the session. You are liable for all tuition charges and fees.
Classroom Etiquette
Please arrive at least five minutes before your class begins. Be ready to dance/rehearse when the teacher calls you to class (clothes changed, shoes on, etc)
Come prepared; bring all shoes, notebooks, scripts, and pencils that you will need for the class.
If you leave things in the lobby during class, please keep them in a bag and place them against the wall.
If you are more than 10 minutes late to a dance class and have missed the warm-up, you may not be allowed to dance. You will, however, be required to watch the class. This is for the dancer’s safety. Injuries are more likely to happen when a dancer is not properly warmed up.
Please pick up all of your trash at the end of class.
If students are waiting on a ride they MUST remain in the lobby area, not outside. It is important that we stick to our schedule by starting classes on time. We ask that you help us to achieve this by picking up your children in a timely manner. This will allow us to begin subsequent classes on time rather than supervising students who are waiting on rides. All students should be picked up no later than five minutes after their class ends. There will be a $5.00 fee charged to your account for every 15 minutes you are late picking up your child.
Communication
ArtWorks Academy publishes a bimonthly newsletter in order to keep parents informed. The newsletter, which is distributed during the first full week of the month, contains important information on studio closings, performances, etc. Please be sure to ask your child for the newsletter. You may also access the newsletter on our website.
Class Viewing
Parents and siblings are asked to wait in our lobby. We find students do much better with minimal distraction and without family members watching them rehearse. You are welcome to bring your laptop and take advantage of the wireless internet connection at our facility. However, you do not need to feel obligated to stay during your child’s class. Please feel free to leave and run errands or have some nice quiet time to yourself!
Each semester ArtWorks Academy has a Parent Watch Week. Parents and siblings are welcome to watch our classes during this time. This is an excellent time to view your child's progress.

Classes will be conducted as usual during Parent Watch Weeks, so please be courteous of the students and other observers by turning off all cell phones, pagers, and limiting conversation only to the lobby. Thank you!
